Zarghuna's Craftsmanship

A Mother's Determination

Zarghuna is a widowed mother whose intricate embroidered shoes have become her means of survival. With no external support after losing her husband to the Taliban in their last offensive to the north of Afghanistan in early 2021 and leaving three children behind, Zarghuna relied on her skills, passed down through generations, to keep herself afloat.

Her creations—colorful, vibrant, and filled with love—reflect her dedication to her children and her desire to preserve Afghan cultural traditions. She was selling these products to local shops when a Her Craft agent found her in northern Kabul.

We aim to support this single mother, in any way we possibly can. Therefore, by purchasing Zarghuna’s embroidered shoes, you are helping her provide a stable life for her children, filled with dignity and hope.
